Roast Pork for Christmas Dinner?

Peace asked:
My family isn’t big on turkey and I’m cooking Xmas dinner this year. I found a great recipe for roast pork and I was wondering what would be some good sides? Would the traditional sides work (dressing, veggies, etc)?

Would a lentil soup be a nice starter?

yummy. I don’t know about lentil soup in my family my mom and I would be the only ones who would eat that soup, maybe a veggie soup…

It’s sound like you already have a good plan. A soup would be a nice start to the meal. Then I would suggest a simple stuffing and a few veggies as side dishes, then whatever your traditional dessert is.

Yep - roasted spuds, parsnips etc will all still work with pork. You could also add some apple sauce to go with it and, my favourite, butternut squash cooked in cream and parmesan.
Lentil soup would be a nice easy-going starter before a hefty main course.

I would go for something with baked apples or roasted butternut squash and mashed potatoes.
