If you have any old magazine’s, clip out little things that mean stuff to you. Like if you were doing it for your mom, then clip out things that remind you of your mom. Words, phrases, things. The get a small peice of paper, glue them on in a collage sort of way
and WALA you have a cheap, thoughtful Christmas Present.
I used to do this all the time, the whole back of my door is done in it (no joke), but it’s fun, and it costs no money at all.
The more clippings you get, then you can do one for other people too.
(One Magazine for me, usually takes up half of a normal sized piece of paper, and if it’s a guy, get a car magazine.)

You can make gift baskets from the dollar store. They usually have things like lotions, pens. Well just basically anything. You could even by some packs of cookie mix, sprinkles, and icing and some sandwhich bags. Put a little of each in bags and put into jars and give to your family and friends to bake and decorate their own cookies. That would be a great idea. Hope this helps. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

i was gonna say starbucks acards but then i realised just how broke you are…
well if your friends are real friends they’ll accept whatever gift you give them, thinking its the thought that scounts…so i think maringues are quite xmassy thingamies…or cookies, which show love and evotion…cake you could have all together…
aaanyways…you coulg make a nice lemon meringue pie…always appreciaed i find! :p
Lemon Meringue Pie:
INGREDIENTS
1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
1/2 cup cold water
7 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 cups hot water
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 lemon, juiced and zested
1 tablespoon butter
3 egg whites
6 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
In a small bowl mix cold water and cornstarch to a thin paste. In a medium saucepan bring hot water and sugar to a boil, then add cornstarch paste. Transfer this mixture to a double boiler. Cook until thick and smooth, stirring constantly, about 15 minutes. Whisk a small amount of this mixture into egg yolks, then whisk egg yolk mixture back into double boiler. Cook everything together for a few minutes longer, continuing to stir. Mix in juice and rind of 1 lemon along with butter. Set custard aside to cool.
In a medium glass or metal mixing bowl, beat egg whites while gradually adding sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time. When egg whites hold a stiff peak, beat 1 teaspoon lemon juice into meringue.
Pour filling into baked pie shell. Spread meringue over lemon filling.
Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until delicately browned.

When my husband and I first got married and had our daughter, money was extremely tight…we survived on mac-n-cheese and hamburger helper, egg sandwiches and Peanut butter and Jelly. One Chrstmas, I had one of my favorite pictures blown up and reproduced (5×7 to most and parents/grandparents an 8×10) and framed it in a decent yet cheap frame. It was probably one of the most cherished gifts people received from us. Your talking maybe $5 a person for the gift. Depending on how nice a frame you want to get.

Glass mosaic picture frame. Get a 4×6 frame at Ikea (3 for $3). Purchase a bag of 1″x”1″ glass tile from an art supply store (or get a square foot in different colors from Home Depot/EXPO), some school glue, and a bag of grout from a hardware store ($2). Wrap tile in towel and break with a hammer. Glue pieces to picture frame and let dry for six hours. Then, mix grout. Using a dish sponge and/or fingers, work grout into grooves between tile pieces and let dry for a day. Wet sponge and wipe off excess grout, till tiles shine through.
Three beautiful, thoughtful gifts for less than $10 total cost. Google mosaic for more detailed directions.

Make candy or cookies or even homemade bread- that always goes over great. I have also made magnets from felt, given coupons for a car washing and detailing, housework, babysitting and mending. I have gone to the library and checked out The Tightwad Gazette and gotten many good ideas from that book. It is worth the read anyway.

Any easy one is amaryllis bulbs. You can buy them cheap at the Christmas Tree shops or Ocean State Job Lot (I’m from CT - you might not have those stores near you) Any how, they are like 2.50 each. Then go to a craft store and buy terra cotta pots for 50 cents and some moss - a big bag is like $5. Then you need a little dirt. Wrap a big bow around the pot and there you have it. I’m giving them to all of my office friends.
